Donghuan Vanke: A Fusion of East and West in Clubhouse Design

GNU Design's Award-Winning Project Merges Italian Elegance with Oriental Aesthetics

Located in Guangzhou, the Donghuan Clubhouse primarily serves resident enterprises and doubles as a reception area for Guangzhou Vanke's important customers. The design team, led by Creative Director Yu Qiu Bing, Interior Design Director Wu Chu Huai, and Furnishing Design Director Long Hai Ling, envisioned a space that mirrors the comfort and distinction of a boutique hotel. The clubhouse features a reception lobby, office, banquet hall, guest rooms, and leisure and entertainment spaces, offering a variety of experiences to its visitors.

The design's unique properties lie in its modern Italian style, characterized by a natural black-brown tone paired with jewel green, creating an elegant main tone. Through simple lines and materials, the design transforms oriental aesthetic images into contemporary symbols. High-grade materials such as leather, metal, marble, and velvet fabrics are used, continuing the classical elegance while building the identity of the field.

Despite the diverse functions of the space, the designers managed to maintain a consistent spatial tonality. This was one of the challenges that the team had to overcome. The design draws on the essence of the Bulgari Hotel concept, creating an elegant and noble feeling for guests, not just visually, but also in terms of culture, art, and emotion.

The project started in July 2021 and was completed in October 2021. The designers' commitment to integrating brand value into the space and their careful selection of high-quality objects with high artistic aesthetics have resulted in a habitat that integrates Eastern and Western culture and art. The clubhouse is not only a visual feast but also a testament to the power of culture, art, and emotion.

Donghuan Vanke Center Clubhouse's design excellence has been recognized with a Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2022. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The award is a testament to the design's strong technical characteristics, splendid artistic skill, and remarkable level of excellence.
